About Carlton Masui:
Carlton started in the business in 1986 doing club repair in Hawaii.
In 1992, he moved to Japan and continued his work in retail stores.
He soon joined World Brands, Inc. (also known as Gauge Design) in 1994 where he began designing putters and wedges. His first design debuted in 1996. In 1999, the first Gauge Design Studio Wedge by Carl was released in 4 different styles.
Carlton later moved back home to Hawaii and in 2006, he opened a golf store where he continues to hone his craft.
Chikara Designs was born in 2007 with the introduction of the Chikara Designs Prototype wedge.
Since then, Carlton has joined forces with Japanese company, YUNA Brands, designing for major OEMs in Japan and the US in addition to the Chikara Designs line.
